i just got my logic audio platinum upgrade in the mail today. i noticed that it is an upgrade for version 3.x or earlier to version 5. i own right now version 4.8. will this upgrade work for me? also, i assume that it will upgrade if i own logic audio gold and want to go to platinum. any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

well, I don't want to scare you, but I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't work. 3.x plat-5 plat definitely is another upgrade than 4.x gold - 5.x plat. emagic has an order form for the different kinds of updates they offer on their site, didn't you check that?

I'd check with their technical support people - soundtech in the UK, don't know about others. Be warned that its often difficult to get through

My general experience with emagic, particularly since they released v.5 is that while with software itself kicks ass, the service and ability to deliver the right product on time without cocking up has been downright abysmal. It seems to be a problem more with emagic than their distributors, but if the problem's at source there's not much you can do other than keep calling.

Oh, and by the way, dont even think about emailing emagic direct. I've sent several emails over the lasst few months and never had a useful response.

yep Emagic seeems to have poor customer service... I emailed them about upgrade pricing and never got a response either and callling on the phone leaves you on hoold forever waiting for a rep.

I think you might have to goto the site to upgrade 3.x to 4.8.1 or 4.x then goto 5.x.
