i have mac powr pc G5 working with soundtrack pro 2.0
but i have a problem with recording from the mic the audio's gain is below -60 db i connect the mic with the built-in audio but i have the same problem..... |

Are you using a preamp? This is required of pretty much all worthwhile mic's. Many tiny electret condensers have a pre-amp built in-line. ART sells a little tube pre-amp for 40 to 50 bucks US. This is probably what your problem is. Most mics have very low output and therefore need a little boost before going into your DAW or to tape or whatever. You can go straight into most mixers because most mixers have at least one or two (or more) preamps built in.
