Hi,

i juste recieved my Mbox2. That's a great stuff but it can't do anything with it ...

I can install PT LE 6.8 but the Mbox doesn't get on. I think it's normal because i got a MacBook (intel based mac).

So, I'm tryin to get PT LE 7.1.? (the one for intel). It results that my Authorization Code is unvalid (it starts with DIGI06).

So, I got 2 questions :

* Is my Mbox2 normal ? I mean, it doesn't work at all with PT LE 6.8, is IT normal ?

* If yes, sould I ask the support center a new Authorization code or should I BUY a new ?

Thanks !

PS : sorry for my english ...

You will need to install ProTools 7.1.1 for Intel Mac to get this working.

Digidesign have not even released a stand-alone Core Audio driver for Intel Macs, they are being extremely unpleasant with their current upgrade / crossgrade programs.

If you bought your MBox new and bought it recently you should qualify for a free upgrade, if not it will cost you about £80.

As the Core Audio driver is only included with the ProTools 7.1.1 installer, you will not be able to use your MBox at all until you have this version of PT installed.

Pretty disgusting behaviour from Digidesign I think.

BTW, there is a note on the Digidesign website advising that you can only use the side USB port away from the screen to connect your MBox once the software is installed although the iLok can go in the rear ports.

You will need to go to Digidesign's website & see which versions of Pro Tools are Universal Binary (MacIntel) compatible.

If you haven't registered your MBox2 yet, you need to do that first. Then you should receive an email from Digidesign allowing you to download the current update for the Intel MacBook. Hope this helps.

That's right, but it could be a good idea, once registered, to write a reminder to Digi's support team to send you that donload invitation. They might forget about you and then the free update period expires - it happened to me once, so watch out! As justly mentioned above, they're not very pleasant to deal with.
