Hello there :

If someone is working flawlessly with this configuration, We have a lot of problems with it..

-Mac G4 800 Mhz / 1024 Ram/ OSX 10.3.8
-Core Audio 6.4
-Logic Express 6.4
-Digi 002R
-Pro Tools 6.4

We tried Pt 6.7 or 6.8 ( don´t remember exactly )
Problem is only with the previuos described config we can get both PT and Logic working, PT works just fine with either version but Logic makes crackles, pops and we can only get 1 audio instrument to work ( with lots of latency ), Either way some latency is still present...problem we did not have withj our previous 001 gear.
We messed with buffer size until it worked the best it can..
The Logic setup assistant does not recognize the 002.

We tried Core Audio 6.5.2 but lots of problem with noises..

002 brakes communication with the computer using logic every 15 minutes, so we have to turn on/off the unit or restart the computer..

-Direct I/O or output options were able at yhe aux channels strip, not now..
-We can get to work only bus 7-8 of all the 8

Would you have a working environment for the Logic Express / 002R that you could email to us or where can we download one, we can`t find the multisets info ..

Thanks in advance.

Regards

On the basics:

- recheck all bits/KHz options everywhere, one may be different and it goes popping
- Are you using only one hard drive for everything ? If so have another one only for the audio files.
- you may be short on RAM.

I've seen many complaints about digi's core audio drivers! Are you recording to a dedicated audio drive?

It also depends what instrument you are trying to use, some eat cpu rapidly. Also the model of Mac you are using is borderline for using virtual instruments.

I have a 1GHz Powerbook, and depending on the instrument I will freeze tracks.

Hold on to Express 6.4, because logic 7 doesn't contain the EXS editor.
