have a look for a vst to au wrapper. Logic from 5.5 to 7.1 only supports audio units to run vst's i've heard of (but never used) fx expansions vst to au wrapper. either search on google or hopefully someone with experience of it might be able to help.

good luck.

fx expansion VST to AU wrapper works pretty well. I've been able to get it to run some older vst's without problems. Beware though that it won't run all vst or vsti plugins. Some older ones will definitely fail to load. I'm mainly using it to run my old TC Works Native Bundle without issues (since the AU version wouldn't validate with Logic 7.1).

Where can I find fx expansion VST to AU wrapper ???

What I am really trying to do is to link battery 2 with logic express... maybe there is some way to do it via midi ??

I mean, battery 2 can be used as a VST or as a stand alone app , there should be a way to link the app with logic express right???

Thanks!

Hi Moondark,

here is the link for fxpansion's vst to au wrapper...
http://www.fxpansion.com/product-auadapter-main.php

however, if you are using battery 2...then i'm pretty sure it should be vst and au compatible. on your installation disk install the au version and make sure it goes into your directory: library/audio/components... or something like that!

in logic select an audio instrument track and above where it says i/o click on the button select (stereo) and then find battery 2. it really should be there.

if you still can't find it ask native instruments or if for some reason you only have the vst version??? then you will need fxpansion's vst 2 au wrapper.

the thing is logic just doesn't use vst's anymore. au (audio units) are the way forward.

ron

hope i've explained it clearly? good luck.

p.s. just remembered check for the latest version of battery 2 as logic express and pro 7 may not validate the version of battery you have...
