I'm sure its old news by now, but in case anyone doesn't know, Logic and Logic Express version 7.1 will be released soon as a $19.95 upgrade. ( http://www.apple.com/logic ) Some features look pretty interesting, such as the "Follow Tempo" feature and the "hybrid synths"... although I'm a little confused about the synths. Does anyone know if these are just combined versions of existing synths, or are these new synths or what?!

Hi menace23,

I ordered my upgrade straight away. I don't know about the existing synths, I guess we'll have to wait and see - but it also is supposed to include the much awaited (should have been there a while ago blink.gif ) 'Plug-in' delay compensation and also a new 'Bass Synth'.

Sooooooooon my precious...

Ahem!

'Plug-in' delay compensation

do you talk about the delay when you record audio?

I'm not sure if i'm getting delay when i record, but i know there's one when i monitor my voice in my headphone.

Plug in delay compensation is a delay to keep all audio on time as use of a plug in induce some treatment time so delay to be compensated. this way you ear everything a little delayed but on time.

You ear a delay when you monitor because you must not have zero latency monitoring and the audio must make a long way between the mic and the headphone, and certainly a trip into the computer… wink.gif

I have a usb m-audio quattro. There are 3 different setting for the latency(high, medium and low). I've tried each one, but it didn't make any difference.

I run mac os 10.3.9 on a 500 MHz PowerPC G3 with 640 Mo sdram. maybe this could the source of the problem???
