OK - let's go back. What software are you running and exactly what are you trying to do? I love my US-122, and really would like to help if I can. Bang for the buck - it's the hottest thing going. Since you're up against a deadline maybe I can help. I use mine in both 9.2 and 10.2.8 and it's works great for me. I'll follow the thread back and see if I can help with your original problem. I'm not quite sure from your post what you are trying to do though. All I got from it was that you didn't like the unit. Get back to me and let's see what we can do - OK?

Hey, everybody. I'm new here. I just got a Tascam US-122. I'm running it with OSX 10.3.2 on a G5 dual 1.8 and Logic. My only problem is connecting my monitors to it. I have some BX5's and a guy at Guitar Center said I could use the two inserts. I've tried this and I wasn't surprised that nothng happened. Don't I have to use the RCA line outs?

I'm using the US-122 with OS X 10.3.4 with the latest drivers and all is well. The RCA out jacks are connected to a Mackie mixer and then to Mackie monitors. Sounding great here!

I called Tascam today, cause I had the same Mac/US-122 problems as you all.

They said: "go to hard drive, open applications, open utilities, open audio midi setup, and change EVERY (and I mean EVERY) possible input & output to "TASCAM US-122".

Guess what...I was able to record audio in my GarageBand within seconds.
I'm now about to try the same with Soundtrack.

On a related note, the Tascam people said Cubasis will NOT work with my OSX or Mac Classic OS.
So, don't even mess with that software.

For the record, I've got two G4's, one w/dual 1GHz and another w/500MHz both on Panther 10.3.5

Got the 500MHz to work...am working to get the dual 1GHz going.

I've got problem with recording on my TASCAM US-122 when
i try to record by dynamic mic (SURE PG58) or low impedance mic (REVOX 3377).
Recorded signal is very low (sensitivity is set on max).
What can I do? I can't record vocals.
TASCAM is broken or something, should I service them.?
Or every us-122 record like this? And i should buy mic preamp.
Help me.
(sorry for my english)

I`ve got the same problem, with the Tascam US-122 and a Ibook G4. I'm from Colombia and since here tascam support does not exist. I`ve been trying anything by my self. from changing all the input/output configurations to Tascam US-122 option. to reinstall everything.

My problem though is that i'm trying to get my Reason to recognize the US-122. the most weird part is that in the reason audio options has the Tascam as an Audio interface but when I try to check that option, the reason boot out an screen saying that there is a problem with the tascam us-122, and the sound never come out. but if I switch back to the built-in audio option on reason, the sound come in perfect through the speakers.

additionally, I've been unable to connect my keyboard via MIDI with the us-122. I want to do that to handle the synth on Reason. but I doesn't work either.

Is here anyone with a similar problem? anyone who works with us-122 and reason.

Hello,

I am having the same problem of some people here, with a Tascam US-122.

The problem:
- The US-122 receives the signal, from guitar or mic, since the lights turn on as I play. But in the "Sound" section of System Preferences, it seems like there is no sound coming from it. So, in Garageband (the only Audio program I have), it doesn't record any sound.

I tried everything thar was suggested in this forum.

The hardware and system I am using:
- Powerbook G4 with OS X 10.3.7

I think it is a problem of the driver, and the Support of Tascam is really very bad - no upgrades, no answers by email. I m very sad about it and I am thinking in selling the stuff and consider purchasing another hardware.
But maybe someone here could have a solution..

Thank you a lot
( sory for the bad english )

Hello -
I am here again because I finally succede in making the US122 works with my equipment. I downloaded the driver for Panther at http://www.tascam.de/en/downloads.html , and it worked.

But now my problem is other one: Using Garageband, the signal of the eletric guitar and also the mic is very low. I dont't know it is because the mic I am using is dynamic, not condenser, but I think that at least the direct guitar should sound better.
Obs.: I am not using both at the same time.
Anyone know if this is a problem of Garageband?

thank you
