Weird...

My last thoughts:

-if you had a similar problem with a quattro, the emi is probably not the culprit (good news, isn't it?).

-reconfigure oms and save again (dunno if logic needs it?)

-try to get the hand on another sequencer, like cubase, dp, or such. Try it with the same asio driver. If it works, i would say logic installation is the problem (or a logic/system thing). If it doesn't... well, if i were you, i would backup every datas, erase the system disk, and reinstall a clean os 9.2.2...

-if it still fails, well it's probably hardware, and i can't help here, sorry...

Good luck.
Bye.

Open "Apple System Profiler" from the apple menu

Click on the "devices and volumes" tab.

Look next to USB and see if the emi 2/6 is shown.

Are you running the emi directly from the computer's USB port or via a hub?
If from a hub, it has to be powered or the emi 2/6 will not get enough power to run (nor would the quattro).

Alright,
Maybe It was a combination of all the things suggested (updating to 4.8.1, new emi drivers, disabling sound manager extension, making sure 'usb audio device' checkbox is checked, lowering/upping memory assignment, reinstalling oms, checking out system profiler...etc etc etc!!!) but SOMEHOW the emi is FINALLY WORKING!!

no "not enough memory" error on startup of Logic.

*round of applause for everyone*
Can I take you all out to dinner or something? ^_^

One more question though (and this may have been asked before)
Why are the signal levels so low? When I have my source of sound up all the way, it only shows a SLIGHT signal on both the emi and in Logic's audio mixer.
Anything i can do to fix this?

You all have been great help, thanks again.
Jennifer

hey, see how easy all of this is! laugh.gif
these "signals".
could they be, mic inputs that aren't being amplified through mic pre-amps? unsure.gif
this seems to be the most obvious cause of such a problem, but if this is not the case, more info, pretty please... unsure.gif
