Hi. I am helping a friend to set up a portable midistudio. The latest Powerbook will be the base in this studio.

My friend will mostly work with Digital Performer 4.1 and probably Sibelius 3 as his main applications.

He wants to have his sampled orchestra "built in" to the Powerbook.

What does he need to get this possibility?

1) Does he need a Virtual sample player . Would Motu's Machfive be the best in his case?

2) Does he need an extra external hard drive, like a Firewire drive, to maintain all sampled sounds.

3) Does he need an Audiocard? And which one? Should he go for Motu 828 MKII or something more portable?

4) What about a midi interface in his specific case.

Would be grateful for proper advices.

Best Regards
