Hello,

I'm wondering which entry-level soundcard would be best for my system. I have a Blue & White Mac upgraded to G4, runs at 800 mhz. My OS is 9.2.2. I also have OS 10.3.9, but I run my music software under OS9. I have OMS 2.3.8 also.

The cards I am considering are Audiophile 2496 and Echo Mia Midi. When I went to the manufacturers' sites to check system requirements it seemed that the Audiophile was more compatible with Macs, but there was some conflicting information about it. The manual says G3 upgrade cards work with this card, but the specs page on the site says G4 and G5 accelerator cards are not supported. (??)

Will one of these cards work with my setup - or would it be better to bypass the issue by using a firewire interface? Thanks for any advice you can give me.
