Hi
I'm having problems running Pro Tools Free 5.0.1 on a PowerMac G4 350 (sawtooth) with a Midiman Delta 44 soundcard. Pro Tools was fine until I installed the card, now it either just doesn't start, or if it does then there is nasty distortion from startup, or when anything is played. I know Pro Tools can be weird with non digidesign hardware but it should run fine with the Delta in theory as its compatible with the Apple Sound Manager. Cubase is fine with it using ASIO. I've already tried changing the latency settings from 64 up to 2k. ProTools will only start up on 2k 1k and 512 (from what I remember) but playing back anyhting sounds terrible. There aren't any options in ProTools regarding hardware as there is with cubase, and I've done everything I can think of with the Delta settings. The machine is a G4 350 with a 9.5gb and 60gb hd, 256mb ram, Adaptec SCSI card and a midex MIDI interface. I'm running system 9.1. Thanks in advance for any help. Craig |
