Hello all,
I'm currently studying Audio Engineering and am desperate for a computer - however, due to my lack of space the only thing I can really get is a laptop (not complaining) which my guilt-ridden uncle is willing to front the bill for. Unfortunately he hasn't indicated any budgetary limitations so I've gone right ahead and thought the 17" G4 Powerbook is the best thing, considering I'll be using it for the next 2-3 years. But then again, I HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT MACS. I will be getting an Mbox for it and running ProTools, Reason and/or/maybe Cubase SL as well, but also for email, etc, etc. I was just wondering if the top-of-the range Pbook will be a good investment, or if a 15" 1.5GHz would be just as dandy - keeping in mind I haven't the foggiest about computer tech-specs. Any help with recommendations would be highly appreciated. Thankyou! (and apologies for being a dummy) |

the 17' screen is great for running multiple apps. But i find the 17 incher kind of big and bulky to lug around. So for that reason I stay with the 15' model.
