I'm a collage composer and am getting an Ibook 600mhz, want to know if prot-tools le or protools free, or any version of pro tools for that matter will sync audio clips together, like Sonar, Dp, or acid.

IIRC, Pro Tools can't guess a tempo or apply a tempo division in the soundbite... So it's a no, no. Pro Tools is a bit poor concerning MIDI compared to DP, just to name one IMHO.
