Can anyone tell me the best way to go about creating a 5.1 track?
My setup is 1ghz Flat panel iMac, and I am alooking at purchasing Logic Express for my audio and midi. Many thanks Mike |

Logic Express doesn't support 5.1 mixing. You need Logic pro for surround features.
You will need an audio interface with at least 6 outputs. Hardest part is the monitoring system, I've been experimenting with my Sony home theater system it has a set of inputs that bypass the dolby surround circuit. Apps like Logic Pro or DP4 do not have encoders for Dolby surround, You will need DVD Studio Pro, or a standalone encoder. There are a few dedicated forums, Google surround audio.
