is anybody familiar with this device? i am planning on using this with either dp4 , logic express or cubase sx. will i need to buy a compressor or does these programs proved a compressor? i am new at this so i am not sure what goes with what...any help would be great

Logic Express does not include the Compressor plug-in, but does include the Silver Compressor.
Apart from that, you can download a good Audio Units compressor for free at SmartElectronix.
