I'm thinking about getting a 1,6 G5 for my digi 002 system. My question then is very simple: Can a single processor G5 run the system properly - compared to, say, a dual G4? (I know that a dual G5 will do the job but then there's the money issue.)

Hope anyone can help?

I was running Digi001 on a G3 350mhz for almost 2 years and it did fine... was limited on how many plugs i could use but that was it really.

You would have to really load up those plugs and automation to almost extreme overkill IMHO to bog down your system. wink.gif

There are a few new soft synthst that zap a lot of the juice from any computer though like Moog Modular etc and will limit things maybe.
