Can anyone help? I am utterly new to cubase or any audio apps. I want to record from my record player into my powerbook. I have all the right cables to get it into the audio in socket, but can I record from it using cubase or do I need another piece of software? also once I have a track I want to be able to edit out loops from the tracks (ie sampling like in hip-hop) and use the samples to make new tracks....
Am I on the right track...? Any advice will be greatfully recieved...thanks. |

I could be wrong, but does SX actually work with the native Mac audio? If it does, you should be able to select it and record two tracks (ie stereo L and R) simultaneously.
You might be better off getting either Sound Studio or one of the Peak versions (LE or the full version). They're specifically designed as two-track wave editors and I know both work with the Mac's built-in sound. Having recorded your track, you can then edit out any bits you like. I used Sound Studio for a long time, then recently got the full version of Peak. OK, it's pretty pricey, but holy cow - that's some fantastic audio-editing software! |
