i have an ibook running OSX and i downloaded protools free. protools only runs in OS9 though. regardless, i would like to be able to record drumtracks from my roland TR505 with my m-audio Uno 1X1 USB MIDI interface in protools. it seems as though protools doesn't recognize the USB interface. do i need a driver or something? what am i missing?
thanks.

yep.... I agree with Kaboom... plus also note that classic mode most likely will not work for doing this either and you will need to boot to OS9

also... if you weren't planning on recording audio from TR505.... to make drum tracks in PT Free with midi... you will need some type of sample or synth RTAS plugin for PT Free or otherwise you will never hear any sound.

and actually if you want to get sound from TR505 into PT Free... you will have to get a cable with adaptor maybe that will fit from TR505 sound out to the Mac 1/8" mic input (not best sound quality) but you need the cable to be stereo or you will only get left or right channel output into mic input.

if you decide to get audio interface... it will not work with PT Free and you will need to get a new app for sequencing as well unless you get Mbox, Digi001, Digi002 that comes with PTLE.
