Well i am looking for an audio card for my mac and i dont know exactly to get. I want it to be fairly inexpensive(uner 250$) and have some good midi and audio i/o's(preferibly TSR jacks so i could put a guitar directly into it). I dont know what to get though. also another question on my mind if i had an audio card with OSX drivers would there be any problems working with an audio application in OS9?(i have been basicly looking at the audiophile 2496 or USB Quattro from midiman but if anyone else knows of any other i/o setups i would appreciate the input)

Hey, well i just picked up an audiophile card yesterday because it seemed to come so highly reccomended. I havent had a chance to record anything other than the outs of a discman, but im hoping the results will be good. One thing, make sure u check which software bundle that the card comes with if u get this one. Some are cakewalk metro and some are logic delta. So far im not incredibly happy with metro. . . . but oh well. Need to buy some new software. If you arent going to be using the s/pdif ins or outs on the card and dont need a ton of tracks and dont have any other software, protools free should work quite well.
