Hi there,

I worked with my G3, Logic 4.8 and OMS 2.3.8, Midisport 2x2 and it was oke. Now with my new Powerbook G4, MacOs 9.2 and OMS the trouble started. First I copied my setup from the G3, that didn't work (huge delay and no Midi in). Then I made a new setup with the same result or worse.
Does anyone has a clue what's wrong and is there a better Midi software solution for Logic (and Reason) without OMS or Freemidi ?

Greetings from Holland.

logic always works better without oms.
just set up the midi environment to reflect your setup and let logic's own midi driver do it's thing. wink.gif
make sure you've disabled oms in logic's prefs and removed all it's components from your system.
also, forget free midi. wink.gif
logic might try to tell you that your midi interface dosen't support individual ports, ignore this message and everything will be fine. huh.gif
logic's environment will effectively do everything that oms or free midi do, it's just a matter of setting it up and saving as your 'autoload' song for logic to load it on launch every time. cool.gif
to use reason with logic in this configuration you'll have to use oms and tell oms that reason is an iac device but this never worked well enough for it to be practical, unfortunately you'll just have to make a choice between logic and reason (easy choice really !) smile.gif
if you rely on reason, bounce your work as audio files and then import them into logic, at least you'll have solid timing ! cool.gif
oms is dead but the osx future is looking good, check the 'x' forum on this site for info. wink.gif
peace, later......
