I have been having difficulty Getting Emagic's 'Logic Delta' sequencer to display the instrument names in the track info box.  It will play the instrument selected but it is hit and miss as to what I'm selecting because the pop-up menu only shows the Quick Time patch list  no mater which instrument is selected.

I have  Retro AS-1 (lite),  Kawai K5 synth, QT 5.x, Unity Piano (lite), using OMS 2.3.8

I have a B&W G3 400 mhz, 256 ram and MacOS 9.1. Midiman Delta 44 sound card.

OMS utilizes  IAC bus #1 and when you double click it a dialogue box pops up and asks you to define IAC busses and presents you w/ 4 fields into which one is to enter ??????? I don't know??.  The  1st field has 'IAC bus #1'. There is a similiar situation in Logic Delta's  set-up.

I've never been able to find any documantation on this.

Any Ideas

Thanks
Toni

IAC busses in OMS means Inter Application Communication.

To setup it, just tell OMS the name that you want to appears in OMS menus:
example: name the #1 IAC buss: MyVirtualSynth1
now in all OMS application, you should find an OMS port called 'MyVirtualSynth1'.
You may now tell an application to inputs its data from this port, and another (the sequencer in most case) to output its dat to this port.

This had setup an interapplication link wink.gif

about the sound name to appear in your sequencer, you have to use the OMS Patches Names application, and to tell it the name of each sounds. onces done, your midi apps will know your sound's list.
