I am planning to get this powerbook G3.
I am in a place where it's expensive to get a new mac.
Right now there's 1 secondhand powerbook G3 333 Mhz on sale.

I'm thinking of getting it.
My question:
will it give me a good system to work on ?
i'll basically use protools or peak LE, or maybe digital performer.

Can i expect much from it ?
The system got 160 MB Ram (planning to upgrade)

And what external soundcard would you recommend ?
please not digidesign/MOTU. i can't afford it right now.

p/s: sorry if this was in the wrong thread.
i'm studying audio engineering in SAE

How much is it! Well, if you really want a powerbook I would try to get a pismo instead of the lombard. The pismo has a 100mhz bus instead of a 66mhz, faster processor and firewire for a faster external hard drive. I believe it also takes faster rom and its cheaper to uprage these to g4s, I think $299 instead of $399. smile.gif
