I just bought a Mac G4/OSX machine but my midi sequencing software does not work with it. I used Opcode's "Musicshop" for years and loved it. I don't want audio softare at least for now. I already have a fairly good digital recorder. i just want to be able to listen to and edit midi sequences i have written or downloaded over the years.

Does anybody know of a good midi sequencer that runs with the Mac OSX platform?

Thanks

I've found Intuem excellent.

Don't you think Intuem is a little overly simplified?

Have you ever used Opcode's MusicShop? I used it for years. It is graceful, intuitive, and complete. Unfortunetly I have no choice but to change because it will not work with system 10 and I think Gibson, the new owners, have no intention of upgrading it. They refuse to write me back concerning the future of their software.

I finally did get MetroSE working. I bought it and I can tell it will do the job but it is not nearly as elegant as MusicShop, too many screens, way too many bells and whistles and simply not very intuitive. It does have excellent support however.

I suspect that when I get over the high learning curve, I will be fine.

The only other problem is that I must now convert ALL of my my old MusicShop files to SMFs so that I can opem them in MetroSE. This will be no small feat.
