If I want to run both OS's do I partition a drive, install OSX into the partition and then use it as a second start up disk?
I'm using a Quicksilver G4 733 - does my firmware need upgrading?
thanks in adv

You dont have to upgrade the firmware on the quicksilver to make it a double-boot system.

Personally I would recommend against a double-boot system on general principles.
Unless you absolutely need it or like to play around, dont use it

This capability on newer G3/G4 machines was meant as a stopgap measure.
( use the kiss-principle in all things computer - Keep It Simple Stupid )

A double-boot system is inherently less stable than a single boot-system.

If there are firmware-updates for the quicksilver at Apple, by all means install them.
Read Apple recommendations first.
