Does anyone know how to record a software synth running on the same mac as the recording software?  In my case, I am using Studio Vision on an iMac and would like to record to disk rather than use midi.  The only way I have been able to do this is by routing the iMac's output to a mixer and then routing the mixer back to the iMac's input. In Studion Vision I would then select the External Mic input to record from.  While this works, it creates latency problems and I am sure that there is a better way.  Thanks...

There is an apple extension (AIFF writer) that can record the sound manager output to disk.

It could help to solve your problem (if the extention works correctly)

It can be found in MacMusicLinks searching 'AIFF'.
