I use Protools Free to edit together my DJ mix sets. When I bounce the final edited layout to disc (File / Bounce To Disc) I am finding the new file to be slightly louder than the original unedited files (AIFFs). I usually try to record as close to 0db as possible. With the mystery added volume I am getting clipping and distortion in the final mix. Just to be clear, I am not using the "Squeezer".

Can anyone suggest any way of stopping this?

Cheers
DJ Anton

Thanks for the suggestion Mr T,

But I have been using the setting you describe, and still I have the same probem.

It must be something in the way Protools mixes during 'Bounce to Disc' compared with a straight sound file export. Anyway I am still having the same problem with the 'Bounce to Disc' sound out being louder than the imported sound files and the resulting mix sound distorted with clipping.
