hey all.. I'm on the brink of getting a 17" powerbook and a motu 828 interface. it seems like the best thing for me. I'm a keyboard player and will be using the equipment primarily to record a 3-4 person band.

I'd like to get some feedback from the forum on this, and also what recording software you prefer. I've never had hands-on experience with any of them, but from what I've been reading it seems like protools, cubase, and logic are the forerunners. what's your favorite?

also, one other thing I haven't been able to figure out is how exactly a mutichannel audio dvd can be burned. do I need expensive DVD production software, or can that kind of thing be set up in protoos, logic, etc.? Hope to hear from you all.

All multi tracking programs will mix all of the tracks to 1. Once they are mixed down they are ready to be burned to disc. It might be a good idea to try out some of the demo or free programs out there. I prefer Metro 6, for it's simplicity.
