i am considering getting either the presonus firestation or the motu 828. i have talked to my local dealers and they have suggested for me to hold out for the firestation. however, it does not become available for osx for at least another month... the reason they say it is better is because with the next release of the mac osx, the firestation drivers are going to be included in the os... they claim that this will be tighter implimation. i am not so sure about this since osx uses coreaudio. i dont think i want to wait for the firestation to become available for osx when the 828 is ready now. i just want to know what you think. should i wait or is it basically the same? i know the units themselves have different features but from the perspective of the drivers being in tighter implimation with the os, is it worth it? i dont think the drivers will be any tighter personally... just give me your opinion. i need an audio interface as quickly as possible. thanks.

If you want to use your computer as a dedicated DAW, it's fine to use Firestation.
Otherwise 828 is much better. The Firestation you need to install the "dreaded" mLan.
It'll take over your computer and make it hard for you to do anything else beside making music.
But it isn't that what you want? wink.gif
