Hello,
I'm hoping someone can give me some advice on choosing the right software for a particular task I have. I have a MIDI keyboard connected to my Mac (Intel). I want to be able to programme each key on the keyboard to trigger a particular sound when hit and be able to record it. I'm sure it's out there I just can't think of the search terms to track it down. Thanks in advance Trist |

you're talking about at least two different tasks.
the first is creating a 'sample map' in a 'sampler'. that's the sound to key programming. then there's the process of recording your performance. you may choose to split these into separate programs or not. the easiest thing to do might be to use a simple software sampler, loaded as an AU plug in in Garage Band. there are free samplers out there for you. this site lists software, as do several others, including KVR. EVERY major audio sequencing platform with some native plug ins can do what you're asking. good luck, and have fun. Thanks for info, I think part of my problem is that I wasn't clear what I was looking for. Simple now you've said! |
