You didn't get me; "Darwin is based on BSD 4.4" is not true. "Darwin is THE base for some BSD userland add ons" is true. Thats a mach environment, it's miles appart from anything else.

Meaning that a *BSD* has, again, zero chance of working. If one want info on UART stuff, one doesn't need a BSD driver, there are UART information all over the place, and countless drivers, for countless OSes.
