Hello everyone!

I'll do my best in english...I'm French! And I have to warn you about this: I worked 11 years on
PC, but I'm on Mac only since 1 month...so, a true beginner!

Here is my computer:

Processeur 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

Mémoire 4 Go 800 MHz DDR2 SDRAM

Version du système: Mac OS X 10.5.6 (9G55)

Now, to the question:

One week ago, I bought "PlugSound Pro", and installed it (together with the "Ilok Key", as one usually does).

My intention was to use this Sound Bank on "Digital Performer", which I have bought too, but which is, for now, to complicated for me... huh.gif

So, before mastering DP, I have to use PlugSound Pro on GarageBand, far easier for me, for now.

The problem is that GarageBand apparently doesn't "know" that PlugSound is installed!

So, here's the question:

- How couldl I tell to GarageBand to use "PlugSound Pro" instead of its default-sounds ?

As I bought PlugSound, I asked if it was possible to use it with GarageBand, and they all answered that it was.....I hope they didn't fool me! angry.gif

A last detail: I intend to use my CME midi-keyboard, as I did on PC, working on Cubase!

I thank you a lot for helping!

Friendly

Pierre

Hi Pierre,
your english is better than my french....
so:
when you double click on a new software instrument, a track information window opens. you may need click 'details' button, or not, to access a button that is called "generator". this button will allow you to access any AudioUnit Plug-ins you have installed on your computer. Plug Sound Pro should have installed an AU component.
you may verify that by following the path Hard Drive>Library>Audio>Plugins>Components. it should be in that folder.

if it's there, it'll turn up in GB, and you can open it's window and use it's instruments.
i'm describing from memory, from a friend's computer that doesn't have GB, so i hope i've got it right, i'll cx later when i get home.
good luck!
Chris

hi again,
i just did a test on my home system. in GB '08 ver 4.1.2 on an 8 core intel Mac Pro i've got access to all my AU plugs, but the window for the plug doesn't open. i recall on a previous rev of GB i was able to open the window for Kontact, Albino, Tera, etc, and select patches from within the plug. maybe that was on a different machine, too.

I've still got access to my own patches created and saved within my AU's. for instance, when i select Pianoteq in the 'generator' pull down menu, in the pull down menu to the right i can select my favorite piano patches, but i haven't got access to the stock presets. i miss being able to see the window for the the AU plug. duh. what am i doing wrong. not that it really bothers me, as i NEVER work in GB, but i like to be able to consult with my students.

anyone got thoughts?
chris

okay,
not to beat the horse, but i just opened GB '07 ver 3 on my laptop (dual core intel OS 10.4.X) and it plays very nicely with my AU plugs.

when i select one in the 'generator' pull down, and double click the 'manual' button over to the right the whole window for the plug opens, and i can patch edit and select to my hearts delight.

argh.
