Hello, hello...
Just bought myself a lovely new G4 'QuickSilver' 867 on Friday :-) ..but alas cannot run ProTools on it, or anything for that matter!! I have the Digi001 Sound Card and ProTools LE 5.1, but every time I install ProTools & the Digi001 drivers the system hangs on start-up when the DigiSystem INIT extension loads. I've tried... putting a 'z' in front of the relevent extensions so they load last downloading and updating the DigiSystem INIT extension & DAE changing the PCI slot. All to no avail!!! I have heard something about the ram in the new G4's (DDR?) and complications with the Digi001. Has anyone here had the same problem? and if so how did fix it? Distressed, Matt C |

QUOTE (Levon River @ Nov 14 2002, 23:56) Humbly, respectfully, and graciously requesting the august establishment of a dedicated DigiDesign (see, I'm being nice) forum which we un-Digi-washed could slink around and avoid. what an excellent idea! dedicated forums for digi, emagic, steinberg, and motu, would help a great deal! as i'm sure you're aware presto, the numbers of ex digi users are high in the en forums. we're not unpleasant people, just keen to benefit others with our knowledge. i tend to skip posts dedicated to digi problems, but can't help laughing at some of the anti digi posts and ultimately adding my voice. you have to understand that we've all paid digi vast sums of money, bought into the concept, just to be treated as their bitches! sorry webmaster, it's you that does the hard work around here, but i do feel that seperating the main sequencers into seperate forums can be valuable to all. i'll get my coat then... -------------------- one for all and all for one...
