i was wanting to know what the best noise reduction software would be to use, especially with film and commercials. i use ableton live 6, and my partner uses live 6 and protools LE 7. all suggestions and price ranges. vst, au OR rtas

At the very high end you have the Cedar DNS2000, but that's horrifyingly expensive:

Waves Restoration Suite is very good, but still dear:

From Digidesign there is DINR:

And lastly, I've had some very good results with the Noise Reduction features in Apple's Soundtrack Pro:

although this may not be available without buying Final Cut Studio. I've heard good things about SoundSoap but haven't had a chance to try it yet.
