i was wanting to know what the best noise reduction software would be to use, especially with film and commercials. i use ableton live 6, and my partner uses live 6 and protools LE 7. all suggestions and price ranges. vst, au OR rtas

At the very high end you have the Cedar DNS2000, but that's horrifyingly expensive:
http://www.cedar-audio.com/ Waves Restoration Suite is very good, but still dear: http://www.waves.com/Content.aspx?id=197 From Digidesign there is DINR: http://www.digidesign.com/index.cfm?navid=...amp;itemid=4341 And lastly, I've had some very good results with the Noise Reduction features in Apple's Soundtrack Pro: http://www.apple.com/uk/finalcutstudio/soundtrackpro/ although this may not be available without buying Final Cut Studio.
