Hello, hello...

Just bought myself a lovely new G4 'QuickSilver' 867 on Friday :-)

..but alas cannot run ProTools on it, or anything for that matter!!

I have the Digi001 Sound Card and ProTools LE 5.1, but every time I install ProTools & the Digi001 drivers the system hangs on start-up when the DigiSystem INIT extension loads.

I've tried...
putting a 'z' in front of the relevent extensions so they load last
downloading and updating the DigiSystem INIT extension & DAE
changing the PCI slot.

All to no avail!!!

I have heard something about the ram in the new G4's (DDR?) and complications with the Digi001.

Has anyone here had the same problem? and if so how did fix it?

Distressed,
Matt C

From the mavens of DidweDesign:
QUOTE (cartemj @ Nov 7 2002, 13:52)
----
When booting up the Apple G4 "Mirrored Drive Doors" (Dual 867 MHz G4, Dual 1 GHz G4, Dual 1.25 GHz G4), the computer hangs when loading the DigiSystem INIT.

9/10/02 - We have identified a problem with the new Apple Dual 867 and Dual 1 GHz CPUs when using Digi 001. Though we are working hard to get to the source of the problem, we must advise Digi 001 users to not purchase either of these computers until a fix can be found.

And to think: DidiweDesign provides its "Which computers you can't buy" consultation service absolutely free of charge to its customers.
