Hi there

If I connect external speakers via the usb port - can my software (presuming it has the capabilities) send audio to the usb speakers on one channel and audio to the headphones jack on another channel?

thanks a lot

Yes. Go to Audio MIDI Setup (in Utilities) and select Open Aggregate Device Editor in the Audio pull-down menu.

Then create an aggregate device with your USB output and the built-in audio output. You then have 4 channels of output which you can assign as you wish.

Each program needs to have Aggregate Device as its output.
