Hello

Still trying to resolve this.

My Mini Mac, 1.42mhz, 512ram,k 80gb (only a 4200rpm) is running Ableton 5.

Problem. I've reached about 6 tracks and it's started gliching and dropping out. The 'D' lights up in the top right hand corner.

I think it's because it's only got a 4200rpm hard drive, but can't decide to go for either...

a) putting in a Hitachi 7K60 internal 7200rpm hard drive - £50
or
b) Lacie mini+hub external firewire drive 250 gb 7200rpm - £100

Not so much the price difference, just want to get Ableton running with the most track with no drop outs. I have a gig next week so need to sort it fast.

Many thanks

I ain't the sharpest tool in the shed huh.gif
So you may want to ask some of my more competent colleagues on this forum, but if I'm not mistaken, I believe you should go for the Lacie mini+hub external firewire drive 250 gb 7200rpm - £100 option, run Ableton from your Mac Mini and put all your samples and record your audio to the external drive.

Anyone who knows more about the Mini, feel free to edit, rebut or trash what I've just recommended wink.gif
