hi ! I just want to know if there is a real difference between an old HD SCSI 7200 and the new G4 biprocessor IDE HARD DISK. I got an Adaptec scsi card that equipped a G4 350 but the driver will not be updated for OS X so is the current G4 disk enough efficient ?

It should be about as efficient, but the best would be to have a drive dedicated to audio. One with the system the apps etc. The other with the BIG files.
if there's a problem you're likely to have less troubles. You can also create separate partitions on the original drive, especially to separate system-apps and docs. the adaptec thing is talked about in an other thread, quite disturbing. And the trouble seem to come from Apple, Adaptec updated the cards.
