I am completely new to all of this. I just got a MacBook Pro and a M-Audio Firewire 1814 interface. I have my input and outputs on the System Preferences>sound screen set to the Firewire 1814 but when I open Garage Band, it only records via the built in mic. How do I select the interface within Garage Band? Also, can I monitor what's being played through the 1814 via the built-in speakers on my MacBook Pro?
Thanks! |

Select it in the Sound system preference, the double check by opening the audio/midi setup utility found in the utilities folder, select the interface in the Garage Band audio preferences.
If it still doesn't show up use the system profiler to verify that the system detected the interface. Verify that the drivers are compatible with your OS version. -------------------- G-Dub

Great, thanks! I think I've got it all set now. Is there a way for me to use my built-in speakers to listen to what's being put through the 1814?
