I just installed a legit copy of ableton and it isn't able to find my vst instruments. I had a cracked version installed and it sees them just fine, but the new legit copy will not. I've tried everything from rescanning for vst folders to moving them to another folder and setting ableton to use a custom vst folder and nothing works.

You need to remove ALL traces of previous Live installs and start over...

delete all copies of [k]'d Live...

go into your user Library and remove .../Library/Application Support/Ableton

and .../Library/Preferences/Ableton

download and install latest ver. Live 5

use you legit serial # it authorize and activate Live 5

in Live go into preferences, plug-ins and activate 'use VST plug-in system folders'
and if neccessary 'VST custom plug-in folder'

last do not mess ANYMORE because Ableton will not play that cool.gif
