Midi Maestro is a PC Midi Sequencer/Editor especially designed for live performance.
It includes options for changing tempo, jumping to cues, and much more.

1. My first question is: Does anyone know if this would run on an Intel Mac?

2. If not, is there any equivalent Mac software suitable for sending Midi data to
a software synthesizer with provisions for modifying the playback during a
live performance?
