I'm sure I've read before somewhere that it is possible to rename the input channels of your soundcard within Logic so that they have names other than input 1, input 2, etc. I can't for the life of me figure out how to do it in Logic though. What I want is to name the input channels so they make more sense within the studio environment that I have set up. For instance I keep a focusrite preamp wired into Input 5 and I would like it if in logic when I am choosing which input to record through it would show up as "Focusrite Pre" instead of "Input 5" in the input select drop down menu.

Have I just imagined this functionality or is it possible?

I'm running Logic Pro 7.1 on an iMac G5 with a Motu 828 Mkii sound card.

Thanks in advance for any help. It really will be appreciated.

Hi thanks for the reply. I already changed the channel names in the motu preferences pain and the new names show up in the Firewire Cue Mix Console that comes with the soundcard, but the new channel names don't show up in Logic so I'm guessing there is something I'm not doing (probably within Logic).

Can you get custom channel names for your 828 to actually show up within Logic?

Thanks again for your help. smile.gif
