Does anyone know of a software application that will create or generate chords & rhythm patterns for use with a MIDI keyboard?

What I'm looking for is to be able to use the MIDI keyboard like one of those Casios or Yamahas that have built in rhythms/accompaniment patterns, and you only have to play 2 of the keys from the chord to generate the chord. And based on the settings, the chords are played in rhythm, or as an arpeggio, etc.

I know you're probably thinking, "Go out and buy a Casio!" But I already have the Keystation 49e MIDI keyboard, and was hoping to find software that would assist me in accompaniment composing and arranging, and creating loops.

Thanks!

Band In a Box has been available in a Mac format for years. The current version runs natively in OS X but does not have many of the features included in the pc version. It's a fantastic program and it's very affordable. The best way to find out if it'll do what you want it to do is to download a free demo at http://www.pgmusic.com/band.htm.
