another question from a mac newbie..... to run Protools, which would be considered more desirable: dual 1 gig processors, or something like a single 1.67? by the way, are there any issues with compatibility with the quicksilvers? seems every time i read more into the digidesign website there are more compatibility problems to look out for. thanks....!

PT is multithreaded thus able to use more than one processor since PT 7 (from memory)
Only things to care about Quicksilver macs are: - the noise, they are not the most discreet macs around, so don't have it near you. - double boot, avoid it, switching between OS 9 and OS X will only end up in tears possibly. The way both systems handle drives is different, and it happens it conflicts The compato page at Digi is a listing of the things they know will do work or don't work. The rest is untested. -------------------- Our Classifeds • Nos petites annonces • Terms Of Service / Conditions d'Utilisation • Forum Rules / Règles des Forums • MacMusic.Org & SETI@Home
