My old studio runs with Studio Vision Pro/ OMS with a Yamaha CBX-D3 digital interface on a G3 mac running OS 8 [please stop laughing...]

This arrangement use to run just fine until i had to re-install everything. Now, i cannot record Audio without the MIDI signal crashing the operation 10-15 seconds after starting record [just after the midi light flashes on the CBX-D3, the SCSI light turns from green to red- and then caput]. A while ago, i had found a way around this, however, i have forgotten the trick and the proper configuration for OMS.

Does anyone know how i should be configuring the MIDI and studio set-up so that my audio recordings will work on my CBX-D3.

Thanks!!

it sounds like you updated the os.
if this is the case, there's your answer, if not, this IS testing my memory, but it could be something like the fact that on a system like this, you have to set the midi communication speed at 1x not fast mode...
let's keep this running, we'll get there.
