I do most of my work to picture - to introduce a simpler way of locking smpte frame points to beats of a bar, currently using beat mapping can be a slog, with audio changing elastically as well as midi, as someone suggested earlier.

The EXS24 needs to be modernised, better implimentation of sample key mapping, similar to Kontakt or Mach 5. Improve import of Giga files. Improve on-board filters.

Some of the included plug-ins need to be modernised i.e. I have to use 3rd party Limiting plug-ins 'cos the Adaptive Limiter is rough as a mastering limiter.

Working in surround - Nuendo has just introduced stereo referencing of a surround mix, also talkback monitoring.

It would be great if there was a 'soft' monitor level control, at the moment the master fader reduces mix levels globally, which if you are working totally from within the software, say in a surrround mix, means that any mix bounces are attenuated by the master fader too!

A more logical implimentation of multi-channel VSTi's like Stylus RMX or Sampletank. It's all a bit fiddly at the mo', puts you off using the multichannel potential.

i'm sure there's more....
