Hi boys,
Logic keeps crashing. I've got a G5 dual processor power mac. I'm trying to play a song that has lots of audio and plug ins etc. but everytime it crashes as soon as it starts playing. Have I got the settings wrong? I wasn't sure how I should have the buffer settings and whether I should be chaning these for recording and then again for playback? I've tried playing around with these but I'm not sure what I'm doing and if this is even what I should be doing? Just read another post...should I buy an external hard drive?

Any ideas?

Jen.

Thanks for all the additional info. At least we know you have a pretty well configured Mac that should rum Logic Pro7 without trouble.

The puzzling bit is:
QUOTE
I bought the 7.1 update but when I tried to install it it said that newer versions of the software were already installed so I didn't)

This tells me that there is something wrong with the installation, or you HD authorisations... BTW, latest version is 7.1.1 which should be available through your "software update" menu (under the blue apple).

How to repair authorisations and do a thorough soft maintenance on you mac? Check two freewares: Onyx (in English) and Tools3X (in French). I prefer the latter becuase of its interface, but they basically provide the same services.

If the problems persist, I'd recommend a re-install of Logic (back-up your songs first) from scratch. The trouble could also come from the environment in one of the songs you are trying to play.

Last but not least, good help can be found on http://community.sonikmatter.com/forums/ but I see you've already found your way there wink.gif
