FireBox has two analogue inputs on the front. Saffire has two analogue inputs on the front. FireBox has two analogue inputs round the back. Saffire doesn't.

Analogue inputs 3 and 4 on the FireBox don't have mic preamps or even volume controls, but they're perfect for drum machines, keyboards or any other stereo (or, indeed, two mono) signals whose level can be controlled at the source.

Both FireBox and the Saffire also have two digital S/PDIF inputs, of course.
