Hello all,

I'd like to buy a brand new set up in order to record live shows as multitracks.
I'd like to know if some of you have ever done this kind of things.

I'd like to get a powerbook G4 1,5 Khz 15" + Motu Traveller (is this sound card great???).
I might need to record 8-16 tracks, for over 1H30.

What kind of gear/softwares do ya use?

Please, let me know.

Thanks.

The trick with any recording work sw-based or hardware-based is to get to
know your setup thoroughly.

Many world class artist rely on sw-based setups for their live work -
Madonna/Black Eyed Peas and many others, use Digital Performer and
MOTU gear for their live shows.

If you setup your system properly, you will not have any major problems
with a sw-based MOTU setup.
