I'm not sure I agree with some of the comments about the single G5's issues.
Firstly, the FireWire port issues - poor FireWire 800 performance and packets being lost when the bus is maxed - are not specific to this Mac, all G5 towers have these problems.
Plus the mobo is the same as the entry level dual processor G5.
The mistake is not that this PowerMac is no longer available at its price-point - the price was fine, but Apple should have been selling the 1.8DP at that price.
It's enough that the entry level DP is crippled with 4 RAM slots and no PCI-X (not that that's going anywhere) but hacking out a CPU to leave a 'PowerMac' outperformed by some G4 upgrades, and poor value next to the iMac, was a big mistake.
The single processor PowerMac G5 should never have existed in the first place!
