Hi Folks,
Sorry if I have asked a question which has been asked a thousand times before.... I have a G3 266 on OS 8.6 with M Audio Audiophile 2496 soundcard and Logic Audio Silver which works fine. I just inherited a G4 450MhZ on OSX 10.3.9. It seems Logic Silver won't work on OSX. What do I do?? The new fangled Logic Express seems to be less powerful than the old Audio Silver since it has only 12 audio tracks etc. (Audio Silver has 24 audio tracks). Can I run Silver on my G4? Would I have to install OS 9. whatever? or is there other software which would equal the power of Logic Silver???? Thanks in advance, Davie |

As you just picked a "slow" mac, you'll be way better under OS 9 to run logic, OS X will kill the G4 on the spot. i've been a year long on a G3 400 myself and I can tell you, even only for the net and some writing it was sloooooooooooooow. A G4 450 would be better, but not enough.
Maybe you could make it a favour and offer him on day an accelerator card but for now, OS 9 is the best and only bet. For the breeds of Logic, I let users enlighten you. Note: if you have a firewire hard drive, and if you keep OS X installed, DON'T move the FW drive from OS X to OS 9 to OS X, you'll have troubles and loose data, keep the drive under one OS only (either X or 9) -------------------- Our Classifeds • Nos petites annonces • Terms Of Service / Conditions d'Utilisation • Forum Rules / Règles des Forums • MacMusic.Org & SETI@Home
